New Car Gas Mileage Stickers Exaggerate Miles Per Gallon |
Recently Consumers Union published a major study comparing the EPA's estimated miles per gallon that appear on new car stickers versus what you really get driving the car. They tested over 300 cars and found 90% of the mileage estimates were above the actual miles per gallon that a real driver would get. The EPA's city driving estimates were a whopping 44% higher than CU's estimates. Here is the full report in .pdf format. (From ConsumerWorld.org) |
